Rory Lyon is a singer songwriter from Baltimore. Her solo artist career began in 2019 when Rory began producing her music. Her style can be described as bedroom or synth-pop, influenced by artists like Kid Bloom, Ariel Pink, Clairo, and more.
"Over U" was a collaborative song written by Marinca Nederovique and produced by Tigri. "I was asked to record vocals for the final release. Tigri and I got together and edited some of the lyrics and then recorded the vocals in one of the Berklee studios."
The song is relatable, catchy, and fun. A lot of listeners might relate to the idea of being "over" someone, having a bad breakup, and moving on from a relationship.
"I was excited to be a part of this collaboration project since the song is not in the normal style or genre of music that I make."
Rory loves the collaborative process because new ideas are always being brought to the table. As for the next release, be on the lookout for some new Rory Lyon material.
The pandemic has put some strain on collaborative projects, but for Rory, there is a ton of new music is in store set to release in 2021.
